Is this trek right for you ?

This trek requires a decent level of functional fitness and the ability to deal with changing weather. We trek past rainforests through a series of ascents and descents. There are also two really long days one  of which involves trekking for close to eight hours, most of which is spent above 4000 metres . The stay is in community lodges and the food is basic, as compared to other more established trails.  The initial terrain on the trek passes through forested areas for a few days and will also include mud trails and steps.

Things to know before you go

While we plan the logistics and help participants prepare,  like any adventure, this one too is subject to the forces of nature and  requires a keen sense of adventure and a mindset to embracing the uncertainties that come with remote exploration. The ability to integrate in a  group and work as a team member towards a shared goal are of paramount importance . This means team members must be able to adapt to the dynamics of diversity and support each other. We are also mindful about the environment and do the best that we can to reduce our footprint ie avoid wasting food and water and reducing ‘our trash impact’ whereever possible. Our stay is in simple teahouses with very basic facilities  and wi-fi and electricity are available but can also be down at times. Delays in travel possible on the Pokhara flight

Why First Light

Small group travel that is local, reponsible and takes everyone along. Our itineraries are put together to authentically offer a unique experience for our co-travellers. This almost always involves a different way of going on a popular adventure or very simply taking the lesser travelled road. Our guides, porters are friends whom we have travelled with over the years and we value them as fellow adventurers without whom our adventures are genuinely incomplete.
